The LPGA Tour’s Chevron Championship, the first major of the women’s golf season, will move to Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston in 2026, organizers announced, marking another significant shift for the long-running event as Chevron deepens its Houston ties.

The LPGA Tour’s Chevron Championship, marking the inaugural major of the women’s season, is set to relocate to Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston. This transition positions the event at the city-owned venue shortly after it welcomes the PGA Tour’s Houston Open.
Tournament officials have announced that the Chevron Championship is scheduled to take place from April 23 to 26 at Memorial Park, just four weeks following the PGA Tour's return to the same venue for the Houston Open. The Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands has held the event since 2023.
In 2022, Chevron assumed the title sponsor role for the championship, which was founded in 1972 and recognized as an LPGA major in 1983. For fifty years, the tournament was held at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California, making it the sole LPGA major to maintain a consistent venue throughout that period.
Following the relocation of the event to Texas, Chevron made efforts to replicate the festivities at Carlton Woods by taking a plunge into a nearby lake. The 18th hole at Memorial Park, notably, lacks a water feature next to the green.
LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler stated that this decision demonstrates the sponsor's wider dedication to the women's game. “Chevron’s collaboration consistently establishes a benchmark for investing in women’s golf—not merely as a championship, but to inspire and expand the game,” Kessler remarked in a statement.
Kessler stated that moving the tournament to Memorial Park “brings the event closer to the heart of Houston,” enabling the championship to engage with a broader audience and communities while preserving its reputation as one of the tour’s top venues.
Jim Crane, owner of the Astros and chairman of the Astros Golf Foundation, emphasized the importance of hosting the LPGA’s inaugural major at a city-owned course. “Hosting the Chevron Championship, the LPGA’s first major of the year, at the City of Houston’s Memorial Park Golf Course highlights our dedication to delivering an exceptional experience for both fans and players. This event serves the broader Houston community and continues to put our remarkable city on the global stage,” Crane stated.
This decision further reinforces Chevron's established presence in Texas. The energy company announced in 2024 plans to relocate its headquarters from San Ramon, California, to Houston, thereby strengthening its connection to the area.
