The Conroe ISD Education Foundation (CEF) achieved a remarkable milestone by raising $340,000 at its annual Scholarship Breakfast on April 25, establishing a new record for the event. The Jett Center at Woodforest Stadium and Natatorium served as the venue for the breakfast event, which attracted a diverse assembly of school officials, administrators, elected leaders, community members, and representatives from higher education.
Established in 2001, the nonprofit organization CEF is governed by a volunteer board of directors and overseen by a part-time executive director. The Scholarship Breakfast, an annual spring event, is the foundation's main fundraising initiative, while contributions are welcomed throughout the year.
“The remarkable success of this foundation can be attributed to the leadership of Superintendent Curtis Null, along with the vision and inspiration provided by former superintendent Dr. Don Stockton,” stated Executive Director Maris Blair during the event.
After breakfast, the foundation announced the distribution of $299,400 in scholarships and support across various categories.
A total of $21,000 has been allocated for student-focused scholarships, including the All Means All Scholarship aimed at ninth-graders and a Wells Fargo award.
Conroe ISD has distributed $9,900 in gift cards to 99 new teachers, all district alumni. This initiative highlights the district's commitment to supporting its graduates as they embark on their teaching careers.
A total of $63,000 in Legacy Scholarships has been awarded to paraprofessionals within the district, marking a significant investment in the professional development of educational support staff.
Conroe ISD has announced the allocation of $205,500 in continuing education scholarships to support 137 of its employees. This initiative underscores the district's commitment to professional development and educational advancement for its staff.
The foundation's influence is increasing, furthering its commitment to assist Conroe ISD’s students and staff via scholarships, professional development, and educational initiatives.
