Conroe ISD will hold its annual College Fair on Monday, Oct. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lone Star Convention Center, where representatives from more than 175 colleges and military academies will meet with students and families.
District officials announced that the event welcomes all Conroe ISD high school students and their families, offering a unified chance to explore admissions, programs, and financial aid opportunities. Educational institutions from every corner of the nation will showcase their diversity, including expansive public universities, esteemed private colleges, and prestigious U.S. service academies.
The upcoming fair will take place at the Lone Star Convention Center, located at 9055 Airport Road in Conroe. Entry is complimentary, and participants are welcome from any of the district's six high school feeder zones.
Students can attend informational sessions before and during the fair, in addition to visiting booths. At 5:30 p.m., attendees can look forward to two informative presentations focusing on the “Military Academy Process” and strategies for “How to Prepare for a College Visit.” At 6:30 p.m., attendees can participate in a Spanish-language session titled “College 101 en Español.” This will be followed by a presentation on “Financial Aid” at 7 p.m.
District officials talked about the importance of proactive planning. “Opportunities like this allow our students to engage directly with college representatives and seek answers to questions that might remain unaddressed in other settings,” stated Conroe ISD spokesperson Russ Reneau.
The College Fair is part of the district's comprehensive initiative aimed at enhancing college and Career Readiness, providing helpful materials for families as they prepare for life after high school. Each year, the event attracts significant attendance, prompting officials to advise students to prepare by familiarizing themselves with the participating institutions and formulating questions beforehand.
Conroe ISD encourages families seeking additional information or the latest updates to visit the Conroe ISD College & Career Readiness website. Attendees can enjoy complimentary parking at the convention center, with no prior registration required to gain entry.
