County election officials urge residents to verify their polling locations before leaving home. Conroe, Montgomery County – Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. across most jurisdictions. However, county officials and local news outlets have issued a warning about consolidating some polling places due to a shortage of poll workers. Voters are advised to verify their assigned polling locations by visiting the county elections website.
In-person voters are required to show one of the accepted photo identification forms as mandated by state law. Acceptable IDs include a Texas driver’s license, a Texas election ID, a Texas personal identification card, a Texas handgun license, a U.S. military ID featuring a photo, a U.S. citizenship certificate with a photo, or a U.S. passport. Alternatively, voters may opt to fill out a Reasonable Impediment Declaration and provide a different form of identification. Voters are required to present one of the seven acceptable forms of photo identification at the polls. Texas election law imposes restrictions on activities near voting stations. Within the designated 100-foot boundary around a polling entrance, electioneering is strictly forbidden. This includes displaying campaign signs or attire that endorse any candidate, political party, or measure. In a recent announcement, it has been stated that wireless devices capable of recording images or sound, such as cellphones and cameras, may be disabled or prohibited by the presiding judge. Individuals who do not adhere to this directive may face removal from the polling place.
Officials have released the sample ballots for the upcoming March 3 elections in Conroe and Montgomery County, detailing the federal, state, and local races that voters may encounter. However, this sample list may not include all uncontested races.
