Doctor Placed on Leave for Rant Hoping MAGA Texans ‘Get What They Voted For’ During Deadly Floods

The Texas Medical Board and others condemned Dr. Christina B. Propst, a Houston doctor after her social media post on Texas's tragic flooding went viral.

The removed post appears to celebrate the disaster by wishing conservative Texans “get what they voted for.” Since the state is recovering from the catastrophic flooding that killed at least 79 people, including 28 children, and left dozens more missing, including 10 girls and a chaperone from Camp Mystic, the offensive statements surfaced.

Screenshots of the tweet went viral, sparking criticism. A viral thread on X that identified Propst's employers quickly gained traction, leading Blue Fish Pediatrics, her employer, to place her on leave and issue a statement late Saturday night condemning her remarks.

“This type of behavior does not align with our mission, values, or commitment to compassionate care,” Blue Fish Pediatrics said, removing Propst from the clinic until further inquiry. The statement currently appears at the top of the clinic's website as a notice.

Both Blue Fish Pediatrics and Memorial Hermann, where Propst had admitting privileges, deleted her profile from their websites. In a separate statement on X, Memorial Hermann said it was “deeply concerned” by the remarks and took measures.

In a statement, Texas Medical Board president Dr. Sherif Zaafran stressed the board's commitment to medical professionalism and ethics.

In the hours following the issue, Propst's personal social media accounts changed their photos and usernames, and some postings were erased. Other users' screenshots reveal that her Facebook profile now features “Praying for Mystic” with a Bible passage and a cross, replacing the traditional American flag.

The outcry illustrates Texas's rising tensions as communities mourn and search for loved ones lost in the devastating floods.
