Things are looking good for the future! Patch.com and T-Mobile are working together to show off the young stars in our area.
Thanks to the fantastic work of young leaders like Aidan Barnhill, the future of Conroe-Montgomery County looks very bright. Aidan is a senior at New Caney High School. He is a star center on the men's basketball team and also works on meaningful community projects that show how much he wants to make a difference.
Aidan just reached a big goal as an Eagle Scout by finishing his emotional Eagle Project. On June 25, 2024, he unveiled a monument at the East Montgomery County Law Enforcement Annex to celebrate the hard work and sacrifices of police officers in the area. This memorial, which is located near the flagpoles facing US 59, will never forget the officers' dedication and hard work.
The Montgomery County Police Reporter said that Aidan said at the dedication ceremony, "I wanted to show local police officers that we appreciate all they do to keep us safe, even when it seems like the world is against them." The project started as a memorial for police officers who had died, but it grew into a bigger show of thanks and respect.
In addition to his scouting accomplishments, Aidan is a star on and off the basketball court, which motivates his teammates and makes the community stronger. His commitment to service, sports, and projects that come from the heart shows that he is a caring and driven leader.
Aidan Barnhill should be praised for his excellent job and for being an example for others in Conroe-Montgomery County.

The Texas Renaissance Festival remains under the control of George Coulam’s estate, the festival's founder, as a legal appeal delays a court-ordered sale. Despite the dispute, organizers say the 2026 season will proceed as planned.

Alta Homes expects 70 Montgomery County house closings in 2026, roughly double the previous year, despite market slowdowns. CEO Dru Kahlenberg is targeting secondary submarkets like Willis and Highway 105, where reduced taxes and land costs make new building affordable for local buyers. Alta expects demand for entry-level and move-up houses to drive regional growth while national builders retreat.
