
A New Caney woman has been taken into custody and faces murder charges related to the shooting death of her husband in June, following a thorough nine-month investigation conducted by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities have confirmed that Breyanai Moore, 31, was apprehended on Wednesday and has been charged in connection with the death of her husband, Lonnie Moore, 33. Officials report that she is currently being held without bond at the Montgomery County Jail.
At approximately 9 a.m. on June 15, deputies responded to a residence located in the 23900 block of Northcrest Trail in New Caney. Upon arrival, officers discovered Lonnie Moore seated inside a white vehicle parked at the residence, with the engine still running.
Authorities reported that the individual sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was declared deceased at the location of the incident.
Investigators have reported that early indications point to the possibility that the death may have been self-inflicted. Detectives and crime scene specialists subsequently uncovered evidence that cast doubt on the initial theory.
