A Montgomery County man faces multiple charges after authorities say he rammed into a gas pump while fleeing from deputies who were trying to arrest him for sexual assault of a child.

A man from Montgomery County is in custody following an incident Tuesday evening where he allegedly attempted to escape arrest by crashing into a gas pump during a high-speed pursuit that concluded with a fire at a gas station in Conroe.
Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office attempted to apprehend Tywes Null at his residence in Willis, facing allegations related to the sexual assault of a child. Rather than giving up, authorities reported that Null sped away in his vehicle, prompting deputies to chase him through areas of Willis and Conroe.
The pursuit concluded dramatically at the Shell gas station on East Loop 336 in Conroe, with security footage capturing Null colliding with a gas pump. The incident resulted in considerable destruction and compelled officials to secure the vicinity throughout the night.
ABC footage reveals the scene following the incident, with wreckage strewn across the gas station and law enforcement vehicles encircling the area. The owners of the gas station reported significant damage and expressed uncertainty regarding the timeline for repairs.
According to reports from ABC13, after the crash, Null exited the vehicle and fled into the wooded area located behind the gas station. Law enforcement swiftly chased and apprehended him. Footage captured by surveillance cameras reveals officials escorting him back to the location while restrained in handcuffs.
While there were no injuries reported, the incident resulted in noticeable fire and fuel damage at the pump. The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office played a crucial role in confirming the safety of the area prior to the commencement of cleanup efforts.
According to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, details surrounding the sexual assault charge are currently unknown. A new charge of evading arrest now confronts Null.
A $250,000 bond has been set for his detention at the Montgomery County Jail.
Authorities indicated that the inquiry is still in progress, with the possibility of further charges arising based on the findings of the current examination.

Montgomery County officials have already allocated more than half of the first $120 million road bond issuance, with nearly $70 million committed to projects across all four precincts. The county is preparing for its next round of funding as early as 2026.
