A Montgomery County Precinct 5 deputy has been suspended after allegedly sharing photos of an arrestee on social media, prompting an internal investigation.

A deputy with Montgomery County Precinct 5 has been suspended following allegations that the officer shared sensitive images of an arrestee on social media, officials said.
According to a news release from the Montgomery County Precinct 5 Constable's Office, the office became aware of the allegations Wednesday afternoon. The deputy is accused of posting photos of an arrestee, including the individual’s driver’s license.
Chief Chad Walling confirmed the deputy has been placed on suspension while the investigation continues.
“Information is limited at this time as investigators are in the early stages of obtaining facts and evidence,” the release states.
Officials said the reason for sharing the images remains unclear.
The constable’s office emphasized that it maintains strict policies prohibiting deputies from sharing images obtained during official duties on social media platforms. Violations of those policies can result in disciplinary action, including suspension or termination.
The case remains under investigation, and authorities have not released the name of the deputy involved.
Officials are asking anyone with information related to the case to contact the Precinct 5 Constable’s Office at 281-259-6493 or visit CONSTABLE5.ORG.
The incident raises broader concerns about privacy and the handling of sensitive information by law enforcement, particularly regarding the use of social media.
Further details are expected as investigators continue to gather evidence.
