The City of Conroe celebrated its top employees for 2024, honoring Brandy Taylor as Employee of the Year and recognizing standout contributions from Andrew Yousse and Shawn Davis during an annual appreciation event.
On Thursday, May 1, the City of Conroe held its annual Employee Appreciation Luncheon, honoring its exceptional staff. During the event, Brandy Taylor was awarded the 2024 Employee of the Year title. The Public Works Training Center served as the venue for an event honoring the dedication of city employees committed to ensuring the smooth operation of Conroe.
In a notable gesture, Mayor Duke Coon, despite his absence from the ceremony, took the time to reach out to each award recipient following the event personally. He expressed his heartfelt congratulations and appreciation for their dedicated service to the citizens of Conroe.
Taylor, a long-time member of the city’s Engineering Department, has recently transitioned to a position in Purchasing while maintaining her support for various departments and projects. Over the past year, her initiatives to enhance processes, optimize workflow, and guide her colleagues have garnered significant respect and recognition. Officials announced that the City of Conroe recognizes Brandy for her dedicated spirit in receiving the award.
Andrew Yousse has been awarded the First Runner-Up honor for his remarkable transformation of city communications in two years as Communications Coordinator. Yousse spearheaded a comprehensive overhaul of the city’s website, enhancing its user-friendliness for the public and city employees. Yousse, recognized for his expertise in photography and design, has dedicated significant effort to improving the public perception of Conroe’s government and community.
Shawn Davis has been recognized as the Second Runner-Up for his commendable leadership in managing two departments simultaneously: Transportation and Parks & Recreation. The leadership demonstrated, along with a willingness to embrace new ideas and a strong commitment to collaboration, has significantly contributed to achieving goals by both teams. Colleagues have lauded her as a role model and an innovative leader dedicated to enhancing the city’s services and programs.
