A Conroe police officer was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a truck while riding his motorcycle to the scene of a fatal crash on I-45, authorities confirmed Wednesday.

On Wednesday afternoon, a police officer in Conroe sustained injuries after being hit by a vehicle while attending to a deadly incident on Interstate 45, as reported by officials.
Officials reported that Officer J. Dugas was operating a motorcycle in the vicinity of other emergency vehicles en route to the location of a fatal accident in the northbound lanes of I-45 close to West Santa Fe Street. While heading west on North Loop 336, Dugas was struck by a Ford F-150 at the intersection with the freeway.
The collision caused the officer to be thrown from his motorcycle, which subsequently collided with another vehicle. In a remarkable turn of events, authorities reported that Dugas, despite sustaining injuries, managed to reach out for assistance.
The individuals behind the wheel remained on-site and assisted until more emergency personnel arrived. Dugas was transported to a medical facility with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
