A woman from Magnolia is confronting felony charges for reportedly running a medical spa without the necessary license and conducting cosmetic procedures, including Botox injections and lip fillers, throughout Texas, as indicated by court records.
Authorities report that an investigation into Michelle Davis King started in April 2025 following allegations that she misrepresented herself as a registered nurse or medical professional while performing the procedures. Records suggest that certain unlicensed treatments could have taken place as early as 2022.
The joint investigation, led by the Montgomery County Narcotics Enforcement Team (MOCONET) and VICE units, identified at least two victims who sustained injuries due to King’s procedures.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, King was taken into custody after an undercover operation.
“She arrived with the product,” Capt. John Schmitt of the sheriff’s office stated. “I inquired about the origin of the product and how individuals without licenses were able to acquire it.” Certain products are being sourced from Korea, Canada, and other international locations, circumventing the DEA in the process.
On August 22, King was apprehended due to two outstanding felony warrants. According to court documents, she is being held on a $25,000 bond for each charge of practicing medicine without a license.
Authorities are still looking into whether King's purported unlicensed procedures impacted more victims.
