Holiday Events Light Up Conroe and Montgomery This Weekend

Conroe and Montgomery will host a series of holiday events this weekend, including multiple theater performances, festive markets, family activities, and the return of Candy Cane Park’s drive-thru lights.

Holiday Events Light Up Conroe and Montgomery This Weekend

This weekend, people from all over Conroe and Montgomery will be going to many Christmas shows, markets, and family events. Theaters, parks, and small businesses in the area are planning activities for people of all ages.

At the Owen Theatre, the Players Theatre Company will put on the famous story by Charles Dickens called "A Christmas Carol." The show is about Ebenezer Scrooge and his encounters with the "ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future." Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 5 and 6 and at 2 p.m. on Dec. 7. Ticket prices range from $18 to $27.

A few blocks away, from 6 to 10 p.m., the city's Candy Cane Holiday Trail will turn Candy Cane Park into a drive-thru light show. Dec. 5–7. Families can listen to synchronized holiday music while driving along the lit path at the free site.

"The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" at the Crighton Theatre is another holiday theater choice. On Dec. 5 and 6, at 7:30 p.m., and Dec. 7, at 2 p.m., the show is about six naughty Herdman siblings who are trying to get lead parts in a church pageant. They cost $24 to $34.

The theater group at Montgomery High School will put on "Frozen: The Musical," which is based on the Disney movie. The shows will start at 7 p.m. Dec. 5–6 and Dec. 6–7 at 2:30 p.m. at 22825 Hwy. 105 W. The tickets cost $15.

Dickens on Main will have a Readers' Night on December 5 from 5 to 9 p.m. The event will take place at 215 N. Main St. in Conroe, specifically for people who enjoy reading and books. At the free event, people can meet local authors, trade books, and look at items from sellers with book-themed themes.

You can also meet Santa at the Donuts with Santa event on December 6. The event takes place at Candy Cane Lane from 8 a.m. to noon and costs $3.75 for locals and $5 for nonresidents. You have to register to attend.

The Montgomery County Mistletoe Market is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on December 6 for people looking to buy holiday gifts. There will be more than 200 sellers at the market in Conroe at 9055 Airport Road, selling clothes, home decor, garden supplies, and gourmet foods. It costs $5 to get in.
