Houston Gears Up for Black Friday Shopping and Holiday Festivities Nov. 27–30

Greater Houston is set to celebrate with various Thanksgiving and Black Friday events from Nov. 27–30, providing residents with a range of activities, including the city's iconic parade, local markets, fun runs, and opportunities for early holiday shopping.

Thanksgiving morning kicks off with the Addi’s Faith Turkey Day 5K and Kids Wishbone 1K in Kingwood. The Addi's Faith Foundation, an organization that funds pediatric cancer research and provides financial assistance to families in need, is the beneficiary of the run. According to the organizers, this longstanding tradition allows participants to run meaningfully while supporting children fighting cancer. The event takes place from 8 to 11 a.m. at Town Center Park. Registration costs range from $25 to $50.

Downtown Houston is set to welcome the H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade. For those seeking Black Friday deals, Bull Sallas Park in New Caney hosts Montgomery County Market Days from Nov. 28–30. The parade remains “a holiday staple” for both residents and visitors.

The Conroe Holiday Classic Dog Show is set to attract hundreds of dogs and their handlers from November 28 to December 1 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. The upcoming event, organized by various regional kennel clubs, promises an exciting showcase with judging for a diverse array of breeds, all at no cost to attendees.

Conroe is set to welcome the Beginning to Look Like Christmas Weekend from Nov. 28–30 at Granny Camp CTX. This free event guarantees festive decorations, warm activities, and delightful seasonal surprises.

In the western region, the Tomball Art Market is set to take place on Nov. 29, running from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The weekly market showcases local artists and crafters at 313 W. Experience an enchanting evening at Vintage Park as the Yelba Trio takes the stage on Nov. 29 from 7 to 10 p.m., performing near the center’s fountains.

On Nov. 30, Woodforest Stadium in Shenandoah will host the Annual Run for Jeev. The $50 event commemorates the life of Sanjeev Panja while promoting awareness about mental health and suicide prevention.

As the weekend comes to a close, City Place in Spring is set to host its Oh, What Fun! Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration on Nov. 30 from 3 to 7 p.m. The complimentary gathering includes a marketplace, opportunities for Santa photos, balloon artists, live musical performances, and the ceremonial lighting of the tree.
