After the Magnolia ISD board rejected a $0.9895 tax rate per $100 property valuation, the rate will remain at $0.9595. The district will need to find other financial solutions after Proposition A failed.
Superintendent Jason Bullock thanked the community for voting and reaffirmed the district's commitment to competitive compensation and student and staff support. He said MISD will continue to be fiscally responsible and find ways to help Texas public schools despite budgetary pressures.
Bullock told the public that the district would find answers and provide outstanding education despite the setback. The community's vote is a turning point in public school funding and support discussions.
