Safe & Green Holdings is consolidating its modular building and energy operations in Conroe, merging two subsidiaries in a move expected to bring jobs and growth to the Houston suburb.
Safe & Green Holdings Corp., known for its innovative approach to modular building using shipping containers, is making a strategic move by relocating its production facilities to Conroe. This transition includes a merger with one of its energy subsidiaries, signaling a new chapter in its operational strategy.
The company revealed its intention to merge its SG Echo modular construction unit with Olenox, a firm that specializes in acquiring and revitalizing underutilized oil and gas locations throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. A new operational hub is set to be established in Conroe, complete with office and warehouse facilities, although the specific address remains undisclosed.
“The decision to move their facility here is set to boost economic growth and create job opportunities in our community,” stated Conroe Deputy Administrator Nancy Mikeska. “Conroe is experiencing ongoing growth, and this company represents a distinctive enhancement to our economic landscape.”
Based in Miami, Safe & Green specializes in the design and manufacture of prefabricated modular buildings tailored for residential, commercial, and military applications, with a significant number constructed from repurposed shipping containers. In a significant development, the merger aims to enhance logistics, cut expenses, and boost operational efficiency across the two divisions.
In a strategic announcement, Chief Financial Officer Tricia Kaelin highlighted that this decision will enable the company to leverage Houston’s expansive labor market while simultaneously enhancing support for Texas’s oil and gas sector. “This strategic decision enables us to merge SG Echo’s operations with Olenox, enhancing efficiency, lowering overhead costs, and boosting profit potential,” Kaelin stated in a press announcement.
Chief Operating Officer Jim Pendergast described the move as a “major enhancement to our operations.” He stated, “By bringing our modular manufacturing together with Olenox’s energy services, we can enhance logistics, share resources, and more effectively integrate our offerings.” Access to the extensive talent pool in the greater Houston area, along with the closeness to vital transportation routes, will play a crucial role in enhancing our production capabilities and better serving our clients.
Kaelin announced that Safe & Green intends to divest its current Oklahoma property after the transition is complete.
