A military veteran is charged with capital murder after allegedly ramming a vehicle into a home and fatally shooting his estranged wife and her mother near Conroe. Authorities say the suspect later surrendered at his residence.

A military veteran faces capital murder charges following a tragic incident in Montgomery County, just east of Conroe. Authorities report that the individual allegedly drove a vehicle into a residence and fatally shot his estranged wife and her mother on Tuesday afternoon.
A shooting incident took place at approximately 2 p.m. in the 300 block of Shoreview Drive, as reported by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities report that the suspect crashed a vehicle into the residence before proceeding to enter and shoot two women inside.
Sheriff Wesley Doolittle reported that the suspect's wife placed two 911 calls prior to the attack—one before the vehicle collided with the residence and another before the suspect gained entry.
Doolittle reported that the couple is thought to still be married, despite the wife having moved out within the past week to stay with her mother at the Shoreview residence.
Following the shooting incident, the suspect absconded from the location. Deputies subsequently found him at his home in the 12000 block of Ivy Lane, where law enforcement had established a perimeter due to worries about a possible confrontation.
“Authorities established a perimeter, anticipating a situation that could escalate beyond initial expectations due to intelligence suggesting the individual might engage in a standoff with law enforcement. It is my belief that he communicated with a family member before ultimately surrendering to our deputies at the scene,” Doolittle stated.
Officials have confirmed that the suspect has surrendered peacefully, with no reported incidents during the process. Doolittle stated that, to their knowledge, the suspect has no prior criminal record.
Authorities have confirmed the investigation is still active, urging the public to avoid the Shoreview Drive area while deputies process the scene.
