A variety of events are scheduled across the Conroe and Montgomery area this weekend, including a Juneteenth celebration, quilt show and Father’s Day activities.

Residents in the Conroe and Montgomery area will have a range of events to choose from this weekend, including a Juneteenth celebration, arts showcase and several Father’s Day activities.
The city of Willis will host its Juneteenth Celebration on June 19 from noon to 5 p.m. at 706 Martin Luther King Blvd. The free event will feature live music, performances, lawn games and complimentary food and refreshments while supplies last. Organizers encourage attendees to bring lawn chairs.
Also on June 19, the Woodlands Area Quilt Guild will present the “Bloomin’ Crazy for Quilts” show at the Lone Star Expo and Convention Center. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. More than 250 quilts will be on display, along with vendor booths, raffle baskets and a boutique. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 11 and free for younger children.
In Conroe, the Central Library will host a sourdough starter workshop on June 20 at 10 a.m. The free class is designed for beginners and requires registration.
Father’s Day-themed events will also take place throughout the weekend. Rainbow Roller Rink will offer free skating for fathers on June 20 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Regular admission is $12, with a $5 skate rental fee. Children ages 6 and under also skate free.
Montgomery Bakehouse will host a cake decorating event June 20 at 10 a.m., where participants can customize cakes with various flavors and decorations. The cost is $28.
On June 21, Walden's Lakeview Dining will offer a Father’s Day brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations are required, and the cost is $45 per person.
