The Willis Wildkats (8-0, 6-0) extended their unbeaten season with a convincing 63-7 victory over the Conroe Tigers on Friday night at Moorhead Stadium. The Wildkats have a perfect record thus far this season. It was only on the third play of the game that senior running back Terri Lawrence III broke through for a touchdown run of 54 yards. This was the first play that set the tone for the game. Jack Emerson, the quarterback, demonstrated his prowess by completing 15 of 20 passes while throwing for 276 yards and four touchdowns throughout the game. Following DJ Lagway's graduation, Emerson has made a seamless move into the starting role.
The outstanding wide receiver and defensive back Jermaine Bishop Jr. made a huge contribution by catching two touchdown passes in the first quarter and making a crucial interception throughout the game. The four-star prospect, who has had offers from colleges such as Texas, Oklahoma, and USC, displayed his ability to play both defensive and offensive positions by making many defensive stops.
Throughout the game, the Wildkats' defense and special teams performed exceptionally well, ensuring that Conroe's attack was kept in check. Dramekco Green, who is committed to SMU, scored the only goal for Conroe in the first quarter. Green's run was quite brief.
As they continue to go farther into the season, Willis scored 521 yards of total offense, demonstrating that they are still in a dominant position.
