A crash in Conroe knocked down a utility pole on FM 3083 Sunday morning, forcing traffic detours as crews responded to downed power lines.

A car accident late Sunday morning brought down a utility tree and laid power lines across FM 3083, blocking the road.
From what the Montgomery County Reporter knows, the accident happened just before 11 a.m. between Exxon Road and Crater Hill Road. According to reports, a Toyota Corolla went off the road, hit some trees, and then hit a utility sign. The impact brought down the pole and spread the lines out across the highway.
A FOX 26 reporter who was at the scene said that drivers were being sent to Exxon Road while the area was being secured.
There is still no word from the authorities on how many people were in the car, if anyone was hurt, or if anyone in the area lost power. It is also not clear if the broken lines are still live or how long the road will be shut down.
People driving in the area should stay away from FM 3083 until the road is clear.

This opinion piece challenges the January 14, 2026, Montgomery County Republican Party steering committee minutes for emphasizing factionalism over coalition-building. It disputes efforts to marginalize local Republican women's groups and critiques police rhetoric. Montgomery County Republicans should prioritize unity, transparency, and voter engagement when choosing new leaders.
