A 14-year-old boy was found shot to death in the middle of a Conroe road early Saturday. A 15-year-old and two 19-year-olds have been arrested and charged with murder, though the motive remains unclear.
Authorities in Montgomery County have announced the arrest of three individuals, including a 15-year-old male, who face murder charges in connection with the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old near Conroe early Saturday morning.
Authorities were dispatched to the scene following reports of gunfire at approximately 1 a.m. in the 11900 block of Douget Road, located just off Highway 105. Upon arrival, law enforcement officials found a 14-year-old boy on the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The individual was declared deceased at the location of the incident.
Authorities swiftly initiated an investigation that resulted in the identification of a 15-year-old suspect living in Conroe. They have obtained an arrest warrant for the teenager and a search warrant for his residence. Authorities have successfully identified and apprehended two more suspects in the ongoing investigation. The individuals, both 19 years old, have been named Mason Goodwin and James Fuller.
Goodwin and Fuller have been apprehended and processed at the Montgomery County Jail. A 15-year-old has been taken to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center. According to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, all three individuals have been charged with murder.
District Attorney Brett Ligon described the case as "sickening and sorrowful," announcing that formal murder charges against the two teenagers are set to be filed on Monday. Currently, authorities have not revealed the identities of the teenage suspects or the 14-year-old victim, and the motive behind the shooting remains undisclosed by investigators.
