The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation reports show that the Italian restaurant and store chain Eataly is opening a new location in Houston.
State records indicate that the new Eataly will take over a retail spot at 5000 Westheimer Road, LOD spot 15. The project is worth $11.5 million.
TDLR filings say that the hybrid design will have a mix of restaurants, specialty stores, cafés, and food counters where you can grab something to go. The plans call for a complete makeover of the inside to turn the space into a fully immersive Italian culinary experience.
If everything proceeds as planned, construction is expected to start in January 2026 and conclude in September 2026.
Eataly is known for combining Italian food with high-end shopping. The company has 14 stores in the U.S. and 11 stores in other countries. Its only store in Texas is in Dallas.
A website ad says, "At Eataly, customers can discover high-quality Italian food and wine while shopping for authentic ingredients like pasta, olive oil, coffee, and chocolate."
There is still no word on when Houston will open. Eataly is the latest addition to Houston's growing list of global food destinations. Visit their website for more information and news about upcoming events.
