Families are invited to celebrate the Year of the Snake at The Woodlands Children’s Museum on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This Lunar New Year celebration features an engaging array of cultural art projects and traditional Lion Dance performances.
The museum will be filled with lively decorations and the pulsating rhythms of the Lion Dance, showcased by the esteemed Houston Lion Kings. Exciting parades are set to take place at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 1:30 p.m., providing children with the chance to meet and capture photos with performers dressed in their theatrical lion costumes.
“This event is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate diversity and expose children to the vibrant traditions of Asian culture,” stated Angela Colton, Executive Director of the museum.
The Year of the Snake represents wisdom, transformation, and grace in Asian traditions. By engaging in hands-on activities, children have the opportunity to delve into these themes and develop a greater appreciation for Asian heritage.
Visitors aged 1 and older can enter for $9, whereas museum members are granted complimentary access. It is advisable to purchase tickets in advance to guarantee your participation. Secure your place at www.woodlandschildrensmuseum.org/event-tickets.
