According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, authorities are looking into a double homicide in Conroe. Two ladies were found dead inside a residence on Shoreview Drive with gunshot wounds. A 57-year-old man was later arrested and charged with capital murder.
Around 2 p.m. on March 16, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office got a 911 call of family violence at a home on the 300 block of Shoreview Drive. The caller told dispatchers that a truck had hit the house. Dispatchers could hear gunfire coming from the scene during the call.
Deputies were sent right away, and when they got there, they found two dead adult women inside the house with what looked like gunshot wounds.
Authorities said that the victims were Tara Hardin, 57, who was later proven to be the suspect's wife, and Floris Wolford, 80, who was identified as the suspect's mother-in-law.
Investigators say that after the gunshot, the suspect ran away on foot. He then went to his son's house nearby and asked for a ride to his house on Ivy Lane in the 12000 block.
Later, deputies located the suspect at the Ivy Lane home and arrested him without any problems.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office reported that several departments and organizations, including Major Crimes Detectives, Crime Scene Investigators, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, and the Montgomery County Medical Examiner's Office, all came to the scene to process it and keep the investigation going.
The defendant is now in jail without bail and has been charged with capital murder.
"The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office sends our deepest condolences to the victims' family and friends," the sheriff's office said in a statement. Officials also said, "We know how deeply this tragedy has affected our community, and we are dedicated to getting justice for these women and their families."
The investigation is still going on, so the police have not given any further information regarding what happened before the shooting.
